Mobile phones & electric adaptors

You can use most of androids and I-phones in Mexico without any problem, but you have to find out what the plans of roaming you have with your cell phone service provider.

You can get to Mexico and buy a sim card and that´s it.

A sim card costs about $ 80 pesos, about $ 5 USD and another $ 100 pesos to activate it; and then you can just put some credit to the number depending on how much data you need. As for my experience, if you are coming for a week, a $ 500 pesos (about $ 30 USD) might be enough.

You can also buy a Mexican simple phone with sim card for $ 40 - $ 50 USD and deposit some previous data as you need.

Or if you are not going to expect many calls during your trip, you can also stick to the internet where Wi-Fi areas exist, which in most hotels or restaurants do.

As for electrical adaptors, in Mexico we use 110 Volts current, and the plugs are like in the US. If you are coming from Europe, you will need an Europe to US adaptor.  You can also find it here in Mexico easily, but better come with one, you don’t want your phone to be un charged on the first day.
