In Mexico the legal age for drinking or buying alcohol is 18.

You can not drink alcohol on any public areas; although a little tolerance exist in beach destinations, but don´t risk too much, be discrete.

You can buy alcoholic drinks in most supermarkets after 12:00 hrs noon until 12 pm or midnight.

Driving with alcoholic breathe can make the police to test you, and if you had 2 or more drinks, you can be put into arrest and taken on detention from 24 to 36 hours. No penalty fee it due to pay, but the car will indeed be towed and taken to a state facility where you will then need to pay from $ 100 to $ 250 USD to get it back.

So don´t risk it and don t drink if you are driving.

Alcoholimeters and check point controls can be found in many cities at any time of the day and especially at night.

You must have your prescriptions for any medicines brought

Any product with Cannabis, steroids, anfetamins, cocaine, opium, heroin, etc… is forbidden to consume or to carry with you; if you have the slightest amount, you can be fined and sent to jail.

The consumption or possesion of Cannabis is not legal.
