Visas
All foreign citizens traveling to Mexico must fill out an Official Entry Immigration Form, a Tourist card, at their arrival to Mexico. Your airline will be providing this info or you will get it at your arrival to Mexico.
Visitax is a tax that must be paid when entering to Mexico by the state of Quintana Roo.
This is the State Government application for the payment of contributions from foreign tourists.
The funds collected are supposed to be used to maintain and enhance tourism services, protect natural attractions, and to support local communities that rely on tourism.
As of the latest update, the Visitax fee is $283 MXN, or approximately 15 USD per person. The price may vary slightly due to exchange rates.

Customs
Avoid any problems with customs by declaring exactly what you have brought to Mexico with you and don't bring anything illegal.
Avoid bringing any fruits, vegetables or any kind of meet, cheese or fresh food.
No guns of any kind are allowed, even ammo.

You can bring new stuff to Mexico for the value of $ 300.00 USD

2 litters of alcohol per person
