Biosphere Reserve of Celestún, Yucatan. Between mangroves and sea.

Celestún in a natural reserve rich in Flora and Fauna in the state of Yucatan, ideal for wild life observation specially birds with more than 30 species to be found in the area, like the beautiful pink Flamingo which comes to the region for reproduction and feeding.

 

The natural reserve is an area with an extension of 59,130 hectares consisting in mangrove forests, estuaries, and wetlands. 

 

Celestun is home to a diverse variety of mammal species, including ocelots, jaguars, and spider monkeys. Also sea turtles and crocodiles can be found here.

 

You can see them in big flocks in a bright pink color.

Crocodiles, turtles, monkeys and many other species also can be found here

 

In Celestun, you can find beautiful freshwater springs hidden in the natural tunnels formed by mangroves.
